'Salad workers in Spain' is a project set up by Centre of Alternative Technology graduate school student Lizzie Wynn to draw attention to the injustice treatment of salad workers in Almeria, Spain. As agriculture booms in the region, some people are getting richer, but water resources have limits & the workers suffer in extremely poor living conditions.

Lizzie has done groundbreaking work investigating the poor housing, sanitation and conditions of the workers - who are mostly refugees and migrants with few other options. She has supported a number of practical construction projects to help the workers have access to sanitation and basic facilities, and has set up a facebook page to raise funds and awareness of this situation.

We're delighted that Lizzie will be joining us to speak about her work and to shine the light on a housing justice issue that very few people are aware of.
