Transition by Design
T/D is a cross-disciplinary design collective operating at the junction of architecture, strategic design and social change practice. Their work focuses on the transition to an equitable and convivial low-carbon society. They work collaboratively with multiple partners, and it is through this process that they believe the most relevant and creative responses are produced.

Since its inception in 2011, T/D has been working with groups fighting for housing justice, both locally and nationally. As such, T/D has become strategically situated amongst communities and organisations working in this field. In Oxford, it's members have been active in establishing the Oxford Tenants Union, a coalition of community groups under the banner ‘Homes for Oxford’ and 'Oxford Fairer Housing Network', and Open House. Nationally, T/D supports the Radical Housing Network, UK renters’ groups, Community Land Trusts and Community-led housing Alliance.

We're delighted to be joined by Nadhira Halim and Andy Edwards to share their innovative work, including developing concepts of 'stage zero design' - their own approach which connects ecological design with value-led design, systems design thinking and strategic design theory.
